Evening of chocolate to benefit Animal Protectors

Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley will host “Chocolate Paws” an evening of chocolate from 6 to 9 p.m. March 23 at River Forest Country Club, Allegheny Township.

There will be a pasta bar, chocolate desserts, sample chocolate mixed drinks, a cash bar, entertainment, basket auction and 50-50 raffle.

Volunteers needed at Allegheny Valley Hospital

Allegheny Valley Hospital, Harrison, is seeking volunteers for its lobby greeting team.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and will provide direct support to patients and their families and greet and escort patients. This position requires the ability to provide wheelchair transportation. Shifts are available from 8 a.m. to noon and noon to 4 p.m. weekdays.

Fish fries to start at South Buffalo Township VFD

South Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Department will begin to host its fish fry buffet from 4 to 7 p.m. today and continue Fridays during Lent.

The events were delayed because renovations to the hall were not complete.

There will be no breakfast on Sunday at the Brackenridge American Legion. The dates were incorrect for both events in yesterday’s Stroller.
