Today: Top 10 best luxury hotels in San Francisco (California, USA)

No other metropolis in the USA is as loved by its inhabitants as the Bay City, which ranks among the world’s most gorgeous cities. Artsy, bohemian and stunningly beautiful, San Francisco’s main draw is it spectacular bay, which is surrounded by 43 hills ranging upward from 200 to 938 ft (60 to 285 m). With an abundance of attractions, such as bell-ringing cable cars, spectacular bridges, infamous Alcatraz, the Ferry Building (a foodies paradise) and of course the sea lions at Pier 39, it’s best to explore this magnificent city on a bike. Here’s my selection of the 10 best luxury hotels in San Francisco, although none really matches the grandeur of the city.

There is more information (with reviews & YouTube videos) below my slideshow. Which hotel is your favorite? Or do you think I missed a property? Leave acomment.

10. INTERCONTINENTAL HOTEL SAN FRANCISCO

Located in San Francisco’s South of Market Area (SOMA), InterContinental San Francisco is at the corner of Howard and Fifth streets, adjacent to the Moscone West Convention Center and steps from Union Square. The translucent glass 32-story high-rise strikes a fine balance between business and leisure. The modern hotel features 550 rooms, with state-of-the-art technology and floor to ceiling windows in all accommodations (rooms on floors 25 and above). Encounter the luxury of the Gilded Age at Palace Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel. Located in downtown San Francisco – just blocks away from Union Square, cable cars and Chinatown – this historic hotel features authentic elements paired with classically inspired, modern decor. Its famous Garden Court (the city’s only indoor historic landmark) recently got a fresh new look, with contemporary furnishings and a daring color scheme complementing its plentiful marble and crystal chandeliers. The property boasts 556 rooms, featuring new flooring, dark woods, layered textiles, and massive, tufted headboards – all while keeping the original 1909 details. Opened on June 28, 2018, the property is San Francisco’s closest lodging to the Golden Gate Bridge. The 42-room, three-story hotel is housed in former USA army barracks, built between 1895-97 and exemplifies the highest standards of sustainability.
