Our family really enjoyed Madison-Ridgeland Academy in elementary school. They invest and really love on the kids and make them feel at home. Middle school was good but it can be a hard age for many children. MRA teaches you to start letting go and allowing your kids to be more responsible. Academics and sports are a major focus at MRA. They want to win at both. MRA needs to invest more in the arts (acting, choir, dance, etc). Bullying has been overlooked at times and needs to be addressed at all MRA levels. I think coaches need to act more respectfully to parents and students and teach Christian values the school promotes. Two of my three kids left high school at MRA to go to another private and public school respectfully where they found more friendly and welcoming friends. They were thriving academically, but not socially. My third child graduated from MRA but wasn’t as happy as my other two kids who left. The teachers are great and really care about the kids.

Our daughter has been attending MRA for two years now, and we can think of a better place to send her. She loves her classmates, her teachers, and the administrators. The facilities are top-notch and MRA genuinely fosters a Christ-centered community with endless opportunities for family involvement.
We will absolutely have our other children attend MRA.

MRA takes the “college prep” out of “college preparatory school”. Yes, there is pressure to put yourself in a lot of AP and DC classes, but we never talk about why and the majority of our students don’t go out of state. (Nothing’s wrong w/ state or ole miss, that’s just an idea of the culture here). Our theater program is very underfunded, but do NOT underestimate it. I am clearly very biased, take this as you will. I feel that since our talent isn’t divided up into show choir and musicals, we can focus all our energy into those musicals, and they’re really good. Omg the club opportunities are practically non-existent. The clubs we do have only meet like 4 times a year, so no one ever bothers signing up. MRA is just cares too much about all the wrong things. 2 Teachers are specifically paid to hand out work detail to girls whose skirts are too short, but they do nothing in regards to discouraging spoiled brat behavior that is very common at this school, especially middle schoolers.
