Are you staying in the City by the Bay for an extended period of time? If so, you are probably looking for the best extended stay hotels in San Francisco.
Here you will find my top recommendations. All of these hotel rooms are a little larger and include either a small kitchen or kitchenette. They also include additional sitting or work areas, so you don't have to spend all your time on the bed.
These are great long term hotel options if you plan to stay a few nights, for a week, or even for a month or more.

The Fairmont Heritage Place is the most expensive and most luxurious of the extended stay hotels in San Francisco on my list. This hotel offers one, two, and three-bedroom apartments.
The hotel is relatively new and is in the historic Ghirardelli Square building. It's less than a block from the San Francisco waterfront, so each room has an amazing view of the bay.

Other Extended Stay Options
As an alternative to extended stay hotels in San Francisco, many people choose AirBnB, VRBO, or staying in a private house or apartment. You will find hundreds of options to either rent the whole unit or stay in one room with shared living areas.
I personally love having more privacy with no one coming in or out of the apartment while I'm gone, especially when I stay for an extended time. I feel that I can unpack and really make myself at home.
If you opt for a room in a shared apartment, it can be a great way to get to know a local. You can also take advantage of your host's insider insights about the best things to do and eat in the area, as well as how to get around.
Either way, these are some of the San Francisco neighborhoods I recommend for your extended stay:
Nob Hill: Safe, central location with high-end shops, restaurants, and bars
Mission District: Very local feel. It's more of a transitional neighborhood, so make sure to find a place on the western side of Mission Street
Noe Valley: Not touristy at all, mainly locals. Stay on the eastern side of this neighborhood for good access to public transportation
Pacific Heights: Beautiful, historic neighborhood where you will mostly run into locals
Search for the perfect extended stay option for your trip, depending on budget and number of guests.
