  The Cage-athon: Delving Into Nicolas Cage's Filmography

  Even though he already had a few critical disasters under his belt at the time of making this movie, Bangkok Dangerous highlights the turning point of Nicolas Cage's career from where on, with a few notable exceptions, most of his output was located in B-movie territory, for better or worse.

  And in the case of Bangkok Dangerous, it's definitely for worse, even though we still haven't come close to hitting the rock bottom of Cage's acts of desperation.   Es bastante mala, Nicolas Cage da una actuación super incómoda la mayoría del tiempo y es mucho más aburrida de lo que debería ser. 🔫

  Las escenas de acción me causaron gracia en algunos momentos y pues no se, al menos eso en la peli me gustó, el resto está malo y siento que podría aprovechar mucho más las localizaciones y la ambientación de Tailandia.

  La mejor parte es cuando Cage explota una casa entera con unas bombas y para esconderse se mete en una tina que había en el baño, masomenos como Indiana Jones 4 jjajajja

  Nicolas Cage plays John Wick. No wait, he plays Joe Wick. No wait, he's just Joe. No, not that Joe! ... Lemme start over.

  Bangkok Dangerous is that rare remake which is helmed by the original directors, the Pang brothers (The Eye). Apparently it takes little from its predecessor, save for one of the main characters being deaf. I knew beforehand that this had a rotten reputation, but I ultimately thought it was somewhat serviceable as far as Nicolas Cage actioners go. Granted, his performance isn't great, and the plot is very by-the-numbers, but some of the action is executed with style, and the fact that they clearly shot on location…

  I enjoy a lot of "bad" movies. MST3K is a staple in my house, and at times I find a low budget, terribly written POS with cheesy effects, to be better than some movies that try hard to be taken seriously. Couple this with the fact that Nicholas Cage has the ability to be in good or bad films, and is typically entertaining while doing either, I felt like it was a no-brainer that I needed to give this one a look. When I see a 9% score on Rotten Tomatoes, it doesn't scare me. I've seen films with even lower that have been fun enough to be enjoyable. However... in this one I think 9% may be generous of…

  Ok so there’s this fucking hilarious dinner scene where my man Cage is trying to fuck this deaf girl but she keeps feeding him spicy foods. Pretty much all the date scenes are hilarious. It’s great stuff. Other than that this movie is terrible. Very boring and Cage is very restrained.

  1. Don't ask questions. There is no such thing as right and wrong.
  2. Don't take an interest in people outside of work. There is no such thing as trust.
  3. Erase every trace. Come anonymous and leave nothing behind.
  4. Know when to get out. Just thinking about it means it's time. Before you lose your edge, before you become a target.
  5. Don't talk about Fight Club (whoops... my bad)

  For no apparent reason Nic Cage decides to start breaking all these rules…
